Portrait of Ernie Locke
Ernie sang in the Sin City Disciples, and he also worked at the Record Exchange. The setting for this is outside of the Record Exchange in the snow.
I intended to do this painting when Ernie announced that he had plans to move to New Orleans, LA, and very soon. We arranged a going-away party for him at my place, and I jumped right on this painting and was able to finish it just in time for the party. I hung it on the wall. Of course, once we'd thrown him a huge party Ernie decided that he wasn't going anywhere after all. He did eventually move to Tampa, FL, where he cooks and sings in Nervous Turkey.
