Portrait of Greg Blair

Greg was a tall guy with a bleached long mohawk. He was one of those sorts who would wear his leather jacket out even when it was warm. He was a quiet type and I don't know that I really even knew him that well, although I had been to his roach-infested apartment. Mainly I was interested in his look.

This is set in Westport, although the buildings that are visible are no longer there. Greg is carrying his leather jacket. I did something unusual in this painting, I used some of the paint in a very thin form and then let it drip. This is the drippiest painting that I've ever done. I like it, it's very brown and grungy looking, and I think that that's appropriate for the subject.
